Sleever International Applies 3-D Sleeves

A distinctive shape, special effects and a variety of surface finishings invite the hand to reach out and touch the product. That’s the thinking behind the latest development in Sleever’s collection, the Skinsleever. The result of four years of research, Skinsleever recreates the feel of six leather finishes, including lizard,

python and ostrich, all in a variety of colors. The 3D motif can be combined with a helio-engraving printing technique in up to nine colors and highly accurate positioning (3/10 mm) to reproduce the subtle effects of luxury leathers.

World Wide Packaging Introduces One-Piece Oval Tubes

World Wide Packaging’s patented one-piece oval tubes feature custom-made, injection-molded flip-top caps, angled applicators and

dome caps, and are available in gloss, matte or soft-touch finishes with a color, transparent or pearlized luster. The lightweight, seamless polyethylene tubes are available in 16mm, 25mm, 35mm, 40mm, 45mm and 50mm sizes and are ideal for lotions, lipgloss, foundations, creams and hair care products. World Wide’s patented one-piece tube design ensures the correct in-hand orientation of package graphics for maximum message and branding reinforcement. It also eliminates the on-line filling problems associated with back-off in conventional tubes with caps, and one-piece tubes prevent contamination between the tube and the cap by employing flip-top caps that do not leak or overflow.

MBF Plastiques Packages My Blend Cosmetics Line

MBF Plastiques has been chosen to package components of the high-end My Blend personal care line by Dr. Olivier Courtin, son of Jacques Courtin, the founder of Clarins Group. The packaging made by MBF Plastiques for the line comprises two jars (15ml and 50ml), one tube and two small bottles (15ml and 50ml). To make this packaging, 17 molds had to be developed because of the large number of product references. The Surlyn cap had to be developed in one single mold without surface deformation, and the realization of the color of the tanks required many developments and tests to obtain a complete, coherent and aesthetically pleasing line.

Cosfibel Sets the Stage for Cacharel Scents

Cosfibel’s latest coffret features five favorite scents from Cacharel: Anaïs Anaïs, Noa, Amor Amor, Promesse and Liberté. The 110x110x110mm pack is the bridge between modernity and refinement. Its modern twist is in the shape of a transparent cube—Pop Box—made of an open-ended case and a lateral mother-of-pearl-colored envelope. The bottles appear to float thanks to the clear thermoformed wedge, which also allows full visibility of the products. The miniature bottles are reflected in a golden board placed at the bottom of the coffret. The white pearlized  envelope features two curtains, evoking the theater world, while a golden organza ribbon adds a touch of femininity.

Rexam Designs ‘Revolution-ary’ Pressed Powder Compact

The makeup section of Rexam’s personal care division has created an innovative case for Maybelline’s new brand “Powder Revolution.” The solution—for Maybelline’s pressed powder compact, called Dream Matte Powder—is according to Rexam, the first-ever side- and vertical-opening case. The lower section holds the puff and the top section holds the powder. The top section has a clear lens so consumers can see the shade of the powder on shelf. According to Rexam, manufacturing the case was a technical challenge on many levels, including creation and assembly of the five-part case, with two screen print runs on the lid; two welding operations on the upper and lower sections; positioning of the mirror; obtaining the quality of the injection molding pearl material; ergonomic benefits; and final assembly.

Cosmopak’s On-Off Brush Tottle Provides Great Control

Cosmopak Corporation NY, has introduced the first of several newly sized on/off brush tottles. Featuring a wide brush applicator, an on/off switch and a 35ml bottle, this item is ideal for the application of creams, lotions and foundations. Taking advantage of flow-thru pen
technology and utilizing the patented shut off valve system, the tottle fills the demand for larger brush applicators that are cost-effective. Using a bottle to house the product makes the item easier to fill than a tube. The bottle simply screws onto the head section, which has the brush and cap pre-assembled.
